October to July is officially Dungeness Crab (Metacarcinus magister) season! These crustaceans are named after a fishing village in Washington, and have been harvested since the late 1840s. Currently, our Dungeness Crab come straight from Puget Sound, Washington.
It takes four years or so for these crustaceans to reach market size. Female crabs are left to reproduce, so the mature, male crabs are the only ones harvested.
